A FOND Look At 2016

Wow! 2016 was a big year for the FOND Family. When you’re moving a mile a minute, it’s important to step back, relax and drink some bone broth. Join us!

1. We changed our name!

The name change came with other changes, mainly a refocus on our main customers and branding: positioning ourselves as the fine-wine of the broth category.

2. We were the local bone broth purveyors at Paleo f(x)!

Paleo f(x) 2016 was an amazing event! We LOVED attending and met so many friends and like-minded customers, it was great wind in our sails, and we can’t wait to be there next year.

3. We were awarded an Aspirations Grant from the Les Dames d’Escoffier San Antonio Chapter

Receiving this award will be a lifelong highlight for our Founder, Alysa Seeland. With no formal culinary training this represents the first gastronomic achievement for our company! The grant we received also allowed us to scale our production from 300 to 600 jars a week - a game changer for us allowing us to offer our broth to more people in more places.

Our seasonal flavor: Conductor was a huge hit at the markets this year!

4. We were invited to 4 Farmer’s Markets

In addition to the New Braunfels Farmer’s Market, we were also invited to attend 4 additional markets this year making that 5 markets in 3 different cities every weekend! Broth on!

  • In March we were invited to Mueller Farmer’s Market. Mueller is such a special farmer’s market and a FOND favorite to work!

  • In April we joined the Barton Creek Farmer’s Market. Customers and vendors from this market have a special place in our hearts.

  • In May we were invited to the Pearl Farmer’s Market in San Antonio and it was a huge honor for our business. We LOVE being able to be part of this special community. Thank you to all of our customers who support us there.

  • In September we were invited to join Lakeline Farmer’s Market! Our regular beef bone supplier (shhhh coming in 2017!) is an attendance there as well :)

5. We added to our list of Stockists in San Antonio and Austin

As New Braunfelers know, you can always find our bone broth at For Goodness Sake, but in 2016 San Antonio and Austin customers were able to get our bone broth at new locations - almost every month! Most notably we were added to the products at Local Health Market (SA) Wheatsville,  People’s RX and in.gredients (ATX)! Wheatsville and in.gredients both choose FOND to be the featured vendor in November!

6. We added shipping for our broth-loving Texans!

On November 9th we launched our biodegradable shipping option for customers state-wide! After searching long and hard for a sustainable solution, we partnered with a company that uses non-gmo corn to make a biodegradable packaging solution that gets your broth to you safely and sustainably.
